As the COVID-19 crisis continues, we hope you are all continuing to stay safe and getting used to a new normal. The SYF volunteer team is moving forward with plans for our 2020 event.
Over the past 23 years, there has been a substantial increase in interest from institutions around the world as well as high-school counsellors and leaders. There is a definite move forward in recruiting students and providing them with advanced forms of information in specific areas of interest.
During these 23 years we have grown in attendance of both exhibitors and high school students. In 2020 we have had the unique experience of working through a pandemic. This experience has been difficult for all in so many ways. As we continue to support one another and plan, it is with some sadness and also excitement that the SYF volunteer team has decided to move to a virtual platform for 2020.
Previously, this event was held twice per year in Saskatoon and Regina. Thousands of students from all over Saskatchewan made the trip to this event to discover the opportunities available to them. The event was presented in a high-quality trade show approach with interactive display booths. The universities, colleges and organizations with in-house training brought expertise and innovation in a variety of fields. Students were provided with in-depth information in the form of literature, technological demonstrations, seminar presentations and one-on-one consultations.
In 2020, we intend to mirror this approach on a virtual platform. Although this version of the See Your Future – Education & Career Fair is more costly, we will be keeping registration costs at the same rate as previous years for the benefit of our exhibitors.
Please stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks about the process for our virtual events. Thank you for your patience as we transition to a new way of reaching students!
