Northwest Law Enforcement Academy was founded in 2001 by former Winnipeg Police Chief, Herb Stephen.

Established with the aim of providing comprehensive and professional training to aspiring law enforcement officers, the academy has evolved and grown significantly over the years. It is now recognized as a credible resource for individuals seeking a career in Canadian law enforcement including all police services, corrections, sheriffs, and related fields.

The academy was initially established through a collaboration between current and retired law enforcement professionals and subject matter experts, pooling their expertise and resources to create a comprehensive and practical training curriculum. From its inception, the academy’s primary objective has been to ensure the highest standards of training and prepare individuals for the challenges they may encounter in law enforcement careers.

The program is a mix of classroom, group and hands on training. Hands on training includes Police Defensive Tactics, Practical Incident Scenario training, Interview Preparation and Firearms to name a few.

The Cancer Agency is a provincial healthcare organization with a legislated mandate to provide compassionate cancer care for the people of Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), an industry-led, arms-length government organization, oversees and administers the apprenticeship and trade certification system in Saskatchewan. We perform four main roles; we train apprentices; certify tradespeople and apprentices; regulate the apprenticeship system of training; and promote apprenticeship. One of the programs we administer is the Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) program, which raises students’ awareness of apprenticeship and skilled trade careers. Those who complete the program and register as apprentices in Saskatchewan within five years receive significant benefits: 300 trade time hours, plus the waiver of their apprenticeship registration fee and Level 1 technical training tuition.
